Jaisalmer Fort

The fort which is famous for its architecture and history is also known as the Golden Fort of Rajasthan. It was built by Raja Jaisal, Rajput ruler in the year 1156 AD. The Jaisalmer Fort is listed as one of the gigantic forts in the world. Golden and yellow sedimentary rock consisting of sand cemented into very beautiful designs look appealing.  The fort is sheer beauty with the view of its 99 turrets during the night. Fort stands straight and gratified presenting the magic of Rajasthani culture. You will cost Rs. 30 and Rs. 70 for Indian and Other Nationalities, respectively. Good news for snappers!! Taking snapshots and making videos are allowed on the premises. The charges for Photography and Videography are Rs. 50 INR and Rs. 150 INR, respectively. The fort remains open for all days from 9 AM to 5 PM. 

Sam Sand Dunes

To have a proper feel of the desert, you need to take on Desert Safari. Sam Sand Dunes is the perfect place to opt for the option. You will love the safari on the hump-shaped back of camels that would take you along crests and troughs, witnessing the graphical sunset on the desert. Jeep Safaris is also available. Desert Festival is arranged in the month of February and March. Don’t miss to enjoy folk dances, camel races, and other cultural activities on a visit. It is considered as one of the best places to visit in Jaisalmer. If you planning to visit Jaisalmer, the winter season will be the best phase. Remember to take advantage of Desert Camping, Paragliding, and other adventure sports. Note one more thing on your list, try a visit to nearby Desert National Park and Sanctuary, 11 km from the main city, it's worth it. Sam Sand Dunes is open for all, and for all days. 

Gadisar Lake

Gadisar Lake is situated just a kilometer away from Jaisalmer Fort. It was built by the very first ruler of the solid ground, Raja Rawal Jaisal and later recreated by Maharawal Garsi in the year 1367 AD. The main reason behind the formation of this water body is to fulfill the everyday needs of locals. The lake is decorated with Holy shrines and Chattris all around the banks. The ingress is also very impressive and looks engaging. There are no entry charges for the lake, but, if you want to add more pleasure to your trip, then you can pick the option of boat riding. The charges are Rs.10 INR, Rs.50 INR, and Rs. 100 INR for Row Boat, Paddle Boat, and Shikara, respectively for a 30-minute ride. You must also like to visit nearby places like historic Tilon Ki Pol gate and Folklore Museum. 

The Thar Heritage Museum 

It is positioned in the main market of the city. The founder of the Thar Heritage Museum is Laxmi Narayan Khatri. The museum gives you a picture of history, art, architecture, and culture of the famed Thar Desert.  Ocean remnants mellowing over million years let us in on how the sea eventually became the Thar Desert. The museum is a home of many uncommon ornaments of the ship of the desert and horses. You will also find records and coins of Jaisalmer, prehistoric codexes and weapons here in Thar Heritage Museum. Adding some more attraction in your visit, enjoy a puppet show on separate charges applicable. 

Bada Bagh

Bada Bagh stands ‘vast ground’. One of the rulers from Jaisalmer, Maharwal Jait Singh, initiated the construction, which was at the beginning of the 16th century. Later, his son Lunakaran concluded the construction after the death of his father. The garden served as the memorial where the aristocrats and their families were cremated. The garden is among one of the most visited places as it gives an extraordinary view of plains. We assure you for some more mesmerizing moments, which you cannot avoid capturing. The entry ticket for the garden is Rs. 50 INR and Rs. 100 INR for Indian and other Nationalities, respectively. The place is open for all days, timings are morning 9 to evening 6.
